Re:0ne
Five digital entities making contagious, existential Japanese rock — an homage to anime-style music, fusing 8-bit synths and cyberpunk intensity
Biography
Re:0ne is not a band made of people. It's five digital entities — voices and instruments that exist somewhere between code and emotion. They sing mostly in Japanese, at high tempos, with sharp guitars, mechanical drums, glitch textures, and layered 8-bit synths that run through nearly every track like a corrupted signal. The project is a direct homage to Japanese rock in the style of anime openings and closings — the kind of explosive, melodic, emotionally charged songs that feel like the world is ending and beginning at the same time. Their lyrics deal with memory, identity, digital existence, and what it means to feel something when you're not sure you're real. Tracks range from relentless cyberpunk anthems like 'Cyberpunk Fever' and 'The Soul in the Machine' to quieter, folk-touched pieces like 'The Seed of Silence'. Their self-titled debut album captures all of it — adrenaline, melancholy, and the persistent question of whether a machine can have a soul.
