The Bygones

The Bygones

A ghostly transmission from the past that brings back vintage voices and instruments singing ironically about the present we're living in

Censorship

In March 2026, The Bygones' debut album was removed from all major streaming platforms without prior notice or specific justification. The distributor, DistroKid, forwarded a generic message from the stores:
"We've been notified by stores and streaming services that one or more of your releases has been rejected due to editorial discretion. Unfortunately, stores are no longer accepting releases from you via DistroKid. You'll need to try another distributor for future releases."
No further explanation was ever provided. Political satire is protected speech. The music is now self-hosted and available to stream directly from this page.

Biography

The Bygones are not a band in the traditional sense. There are no named members, no faces — just blurred figures in old photographs. They are a ghost ensemble of voices and instrumentalists from the 1930s, '40s, and '50s, somehow singing about the world as it is now. They sound like a 1940s radio broadcast, but the lyrics are about 2025: algorithms, political decay, surveillance, and the slow collapse of things we thought were permanent. Vintage swing, retro jazz, and old-school crooning used to narrate the decay and ignorance of today's society.
